So What Is Digital TV?

Digital TV or DTV is the latest form of broadcasting technology used for sending television broadcasts. Digital TV uses a much more efficient and flexible transmission technology that allows broadcasters to send better picture and sound quality, more programming options, and interactive capabilities.
By sending TV programming digitally there is more room on the broadcast spectrum for other uses. With this free space it is possible for stations to send multiple channels of free programing all at once. This is called multi-casting. With analog TV broadcasters could only send one channels programming at a time. This alone gives digital TV a huge advantage over analog. However digital TV can also make it possible to send interactive video and data services that analog TV just can not do.
