YouTube has just launched its TV optimized version of the site called YouTube XL. This new version of the site will bring the webs most popular video sharing content right to your TV. It has been redesigned into a very clean and easy to navigate portal. All of the advertising, comments, and suggestion features that clutter the site are stripped out. Unfortunately so are the HD and HQ features as well, but hopefully this will soon change.

CBS.com is stepping up their online streaming with some full episodes and clips now in up to 1080p resolution.

Panasonic’s very first wireless HD TV featureing 1080p plasmas and assorted accessories went on sale this week in Japan.  Unfortunatley, we won’t see these in the US until June.

Now for all of you Verizon HD DVR users you can control your recordings from their remote managment program directly on their website. You can also use their mobile address http://m.verizon.com/tv from any cellphone, on any carrier for remote DVR programming.

VUDU has cut the prices of their VUDU boxes in half. Their standard VUDU box is now $149 down from $299 and their VUDU XL box is now $499 down from $999. So if you where on the edge of whether or not to buy one of these now would be a good time.

We announced earlier in the year that Roku would soon be adding Amazon Video on Demand to their Netflix box, but we did not know when. Apparently they are now in the private beta testing phase. Their is an official thread over at the Roku forum with the details. Still no official word as to when the update will be available to the public.
