DTVPal Digital to Analog Converter Box Review
June 13, 2008 – 4:29 pm
Dish Network is about to release a new digital to analog converter box for consumers with older analog TV’s. The converter box lloks like it will stand out in the crowd as far as converter boxes go, with some great very functional features.
DTVPal allows you to switch between digital and analog channels with the push of a button with a technology called analog pass-though. So with this you will still be able to watch the low-powered channels still broadcasting after the switch.
The electronic program guide in the DTVPal is much better then other boxes we have seen. Allowing you to browse through several days worth of TV programming at a time. This is however limited by the amount of data that broadcasters give. Another nice feature included in the program guide is the ability to search for programs by title using an onscreen keyboard.
Some of the other features the DTVPal converter box has include an show timer, parental controls, closed captioning, stereo and audio output, and alternate language feeds.
Overall the DTVPal is a good choice for someone who still needs a digital TV converter before the switchover to all digital. Its suppose to sell for around $60, and it will qualify for the coupon program.

Just received our DTV Pal today. I really knew nothing about it when I ordered it, it was just kind of in the middle ground as far as pricing went, not the cheapest, not the most expensive. It works great on our older model Magnavox TV. It was easy to set up, AND we are now receiving our area’a PBS station on HD and are thrilled to death! We ordered it online from BSAT and received excellent, trustworthy service, and have ordered another for our other TV.
